Kamilah Drummond-Forrester, M.A., director of Open Circle, explains that social and emotional learning is so vital to a school’s curriculum because emotion drives attention, and in turn, drives all learning. When parents and teachers are intentional about teaching emotional skills, students are more focused, engaged, and motivated.
