In this video, Ellen Gannett, M.Ed., director of the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST) at the Wellesley Centers for Women, talks about the Survey of Afterschool Youth Outcomes Youth Survey (SAYO-Y), a tool that is part of the Afterschool Program Assessment System (APAS). SAYO-Y is survey that gives young people a chance to weigh in on the out-of-school-time programs they're attending. SAYO-Y will be able to measure the perceptions of children's experiences, a child's sense of competence, and their future expectations.
