This group of inter-related research projects examines three related changes in the U.S. workplace - rising employment in the service industries, increased diversity of the workforce, and the increase in numbers of older workers.
The U.S. workforce is changing, with rising rates of employment in service industries, diversification of the workforce with respect to gender and race or ethnicity, and rising rates of employment among workers over the age of 50. Through a variety of research studies over the past two decades, researchers at the Wellesley Centers for Women have addressed the implications of these changes for individuals, families, and communities.
