This paper describes the development of a quantitative measure of five hypothesized dimensions of adolescent lesbian sexual identity: sexual desire, sexual behavior, social identification, pride, and internalized homophobia. The validity of the hypothesized constructs and the reliabilities of each of the items and the subscales were examined using Covariance Structure Analysis (LISREL) using the data obtained by piloting the instrument in 10 social support groups in the Northeast. The results are consistent with the proposed five-factor model.
