Depression is common in parents, and research suggests that children of depressed parents are at a higher risk to develop depression themselves. There have been a number of recent recommendations for the development of prevention efforts for children of depressed parents, yet few studies have been conducted on the topic. This study looks into two depression prevention strategies for children with depressed parents. The strategies focus on adolescent and are family-based. The strategies focus on providing parents with information and skills in order to better communicate with their children.
