Research focused on labor economics and corporate finance.

Deniz Çivril was a research scientist (2020-2023) in the Women in the Workplace Research Initiative at the Wellesley Centers for Women. She was also a Special-Sworn-Status researcher at the U.S. Census Bureau. Her research interests centered on labor economics, international trade, and corporate finance. Her projects at WCW explored the effects of state paid leave laws on firms using confidential U.S. firm and individual level data. She received her Ph.D. in international economics and finance from Brandeis University in 2014 and her M.A. in psychology from The New School in 2019.
