This project will longitudinally evaluate the effectiveness of Get Real: Comprehensive Sex Education That Works, a comprehensive sex education program for high school students, which is grounded in social emotional learning and family engagement.

For this five-year project, WCW will partner with Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts as the program developer and Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, which will implement Get Real in Cleveland, Ohio public high schools.

Dr. Grossman and her colleagues will evaluate the effectiveness of Get Real in delaying and reducing high school students’ sexual risk behaviors. The evaluation team will use a two-group (Tx and C) Randomized Controlled Trial, which is the gold standard for effectiveness research. The evaluation will be randomized by classroom and will include 150 classrooms.
