This book discusses zero-tolerance policies within schools--a policy that started as a prohibition against guns but has since grown to encompass much more--and how they, in actuality, cause schools to be less safe. These policies diminish the relationships between student and teacher and between school and community. The book goes on to address how these policies disproportionately affect Black and Latino students.
