WCW working with Mekea Strey and its titular head, Mu Sochua the former head Minister of Women’s Affairs, to build a coalition similar to the ones in Bangladesh and Nepal.

Expected Results:

Build momentum for 1.) the passage of the disability law that was recently forwarded to parliament and 2.) the implementation of this law on behalf of women and children with disabilities.

Develop community-based policy guidelines and a community-based rehabilitation (CBR) model that 1.) looks at violence against women as both a cause and consequence of disability, conflict as a cause of physical, sexual, psychological disability; 2.) calls for micro, credit, and self employment for women with disabilities and caregivers of family members with disabilities; and 3.) develops concrete strategies to address the stigmatization of women with disabilities.
