Fathers’ talk with teens about sex can protect teens from risky sexual behavior, but few interventions support fathers’ preparation for and engagement with health-promoting talk with teens about sex and relationships.

This project will develop a three-module prototype for a father-teen online program to support health-promoting communication about sex and relationships, and evaluate the program’s acceptability, feasibility, and preliminary efficacy.

This research contributes to public health by developing an intervention which addresses fathers as an underutilized resource to support teens’ sexual health, using novel approaches to maximize father-teen communication about sex.
