Minneapolis' Jungle Theater wins up to $750,000 from estate of Cosmopolitan editor

People holding hands and standing in a circle on a stage in a theater.Following the release of a recent study by WCW's Ineke Ceder and Sumru Erkut, Ph.D., that identified barriers to leadership for women in nonprofit theater, the Pussycat Foundation took action to dismantle those barriers with the creation of the BOLD Theater Women’s Leadership Circle.

The aim of the BOLD Circle is to create a network of female artistic directors at nonprofit U.S. theaters who will feel empowered to take on the obstacles that hold women back from leadership in their field. To start, the BOLD Circle awarded five theaters with $250,000 grants for the 2018-19 season. One of the five recipients was Minneapolis' Jungle Theater.
