During the Wood End Elementary School's hosting of the School Committee, Wood End presented on the school's work with the teaching tool Open Circle. The objectives of Open Circle encompass "building langauge skills, learning how to work with others, developing rules that are safe and fair, dealing with annoying behaviors like teasing and bullying." Teachers said that the role-playing of Open Circle has proved to be an effective tool for learning new ways of dealing with problems, and that building and reinforcing vocabulary has also had positive outcomes for the classes.
