Haverhill Schools Spurn Planned Parenthood Sex Ed

The School Committee of Haverhill said yes to sex education but no to Planned Parenthood’s Get Real program in middle schools. School Committee President Scott Wood descibed Planned Parenthood as an organization with an agenda. But representatives for the Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts said that “The goal of Get Real is to delay the onset of sex,” and encourages parental involvement. Lorraine Codeiro and Jenny Grossman, researchers at the Wellesley Centers for Women, also attended the meeting. Grossman stated that students who have been enrolled in Get Real “felt comfortable saying no to sex.” Read article.
