Schools overhaul social studies classes

Elementary school students will soon be studying social studies through curricula more aligned with content-specific state frameworks. The revised curriculum will have children in grades K-5 studying history, geography, economics, and civics. For civics and government, children in kindergarten will be learning social competence through Open Circle, a program developed at the Wellesley Centers for Women.  Read more
