Schools to revise harassment policy

After an incident in which a 6-year-old boy was suspended for sexual harassment, the Brockton School Department will be revising its policy to address inappropriate touching among young children. Nan Stein, a researcher at the Wellesley Centers for Women who developed the states first curriculum addressing sexual harassment in schools, suggests that the school department also reconsider the use of the words ‘sexual harassment’ in disciplining the boy. “You’ve got to put it in age appropriate, developmentally appropriate words.”
