Helping Patients Live through CancerThe Hampton Union A North Hampton, New Hampshire psychologist has developed a free local support group to help people dealing with cancer feel less isolated. Prior to creating the support group, Dr. Constance Johannessen attended the practitioners’ program of the Jean Baker Miller Training Institute at the Wellesley Centers for Women. This program for advanced professionals offers training in the concepts of relational cultural theory that can be incorporated into the healing process, including empathy and the importance of connection and relationships.
