Longitudinal Research on Partner Violence, Child Physical Abuse, and Child Sexual AbuseProject Director: Linda M. Williams, Ph.D. This was a collaborative, multi-site project involving a comprehensive follow-up study of families in which physical and/or sexual violence has occurred. The study examined the impact of these events upon the individual, the family, and the community, thereby evaluating the efficacy of specific interventions. The study focused on programs and policies designed to prevent and treat family violence, and to promote child safety and family functioning. Study participants included fathers, mothers, and child victims from families of reported incest, child physical abuse, and/or partner violence. The study addressed scientific questions about the long-term outcomes of family violence and the differential impact of violence on the child and the family. Publications Mahoney, P., & Williams, L.
