Learning Circles

The project directors conducted a process and impact evaluation of the Patriot's Trail and Plymouth Bay Girl Scout Councils' Learning Circles project. This program, based on a group mentoring model, has created "Learning Circles," where girls ages 10-12 and adult mentors met regularly to discuss issues of importance to girls that provided a platform for exploring values. The results showed that girls enjoyed the opportunity for discussing issues relevant to their lives with women who were attentive. Many reported being sad to leave at the end of each session.
