Ongoing since 2006

Project Director: Rangita de Silva-de Alwis, LL.M., S.J.D.
Funder: Ford Foundation

tinyglobe This program brings together a working group of lawyers and jurists from Asia to focus on law reform in the region. The working group will examine the role that gender-based strategic litigation can play in advancing equality, non-discrimination, and human rights. In addition, the working group will explore ways to establish a regional network of lawyers and jurists to ensure that civil, political, social, economic, and cultural rights are legally enforceable. A follow-up workshop will consist of training on the strategic litigation of women’s human rights. This workshop will strive to find common ground and best practices among diverse legal systems.
