Gender gap among grads favors The girls

The NY state school system recently found that the recent graduating senior class was comprised of 79% girls and 72% boys. This small gap has created a large controversy in the state with educators demanding answers. In the article, Sumru Erkut, associate director of the Center for Research on Women states: "Historically, education was for boys, and girls were let in," which adds another dimension to this complex issue.
