Staten Island Sunday Advance In 68% of married couples, both parents work outside the home, leaving them to find ways to fill the after-school hours for their children. “When choosing a program, parents must think about what their child needs, and what they, the parents, need in terms of time covered,” says Joyce Shortt, co-director of NIOST at the Wellesley Centers for Women. “Then think about the logistics like transportation and the issue of cost. It’s a very complicated process to make these arrangements.” |
