UB gone! Kids fend off cyberbullies

Instant messaging, cyber space chat rooms, and online blogs are giving children increased opportunity for teasing, as well as an unsupervised playing field on which to bully their peers. Nancy Mullin, director of the Project on Teasing and Bullying at the Wellesley Centers for Women, warns that children don’t realize the devastating impact this type of bullying may have. “They look at their Web site and see that it has 1,100 hits, but they don’t understand what that might mean to somebody.”
