Lecture series celebrates women who have taken brave stands
The Wellesley Townsman The Women of Courage Lecture Series, co-sponsored by the Wellesley Centers for Women and the Boston Research Center for the 21st Century, continues its celebration of courageous women. A lecture given by the reverend Gloria White-Hammond on January 27, 2005 honors the life and work of Harriet Tubman. Susan McGee Bailey, executive director of the Wellesley Centers for Women states, “Too often, women’s pioneering efforts are lost. We hope this series will celebrate women’s leadership in ways that will inspire and support all the women and men who are working for a more just and peaceful world.” Read more |
