Ames conference sheds light on bullying
Des Moines Register At the Governor’s Conference on Bullying and Harassment, at which Nan Stein, senior research scientist at the Wellesley Centers for Women, was the keynote speaker, students shared their stories of harassment with more than 400 fellow students, teachers, and school administrators. One such story came from a gay student who attempted suicide because of harassment by his classmates. Students from an area middle school reported being motivated to work harder at trying to stop the harassment in their schools after hearing the personal accounts of the other students. Read more |
