Troubled teachers
The Boston Herald A Herald investigation showed some teachers hid or otherwise overcame a criminal record with a history of child abuse and continued teaching. According to Nan Stein, senior research scientist at the Wellesley Centers for Women, it is called the “mobile molester syndrome.” This dangerous situation occurs when reference checks on teachers are not thoroughly performed, the lack of communication between private and public schools prevents discussion of problem teachers, or when questionable teachers are given a second chance. |
