Are More Teachers Crossing The Line?

Though it seems like the number of cases of teacher sex abuse scandals is on the rise, most experts agree that it is the reporting of such cases that is increasing. Since the priest abuse scandals in the Catholic Church a few years ago, people have become more comfortable confronting authority and reporting abuse. Additionally, new technology such as text messaging makes finding evidence of abuse easier. Says Nan Stein, senior research scientist at the Wellesley Centers for Women, "The fact that there's e-mails or photos or text messages, we have a chain of evidence. So we have a lot of stupidity mixed with bravado with this documentation."
