Pamela Ann Melroy (Colonel, USAF, RET.)

NASA Astronaut

 

Pamela Melroy Pamela Melroy, a graduate of Wellesley College and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was commissioned through the Air Force ROTC program in 1983. Graduating from Undergraduate Pilot Training in 1985 she has since logged over 5000 hours flight time in over 50 aircraft. In 1995 she reported to Johnson Space Center and began her NASA career. Throughout her years at NASA she has worked Advanced Projects for the Astronaut Office, acted as the lead on the Columbia Reconstruction Team, was deputy project manager for a crew survival investigation team, and performed CAPCOM duties in mission control. Furthermore, Melroy served as pilot on two flights (STS-92 in 2000 and STS-112 in 2002), and as mission commander on STS-120 in 2007. Overall she has logged a total of 924 hours in space.
