The children of Lawrence, Massachusetts are in an education crisis. Only 41 percent of pupils finish high school and local teenage girls are statistically more likely to get pregnant than to finish their secondary education. Michelle Porche, senior research scientist at the Wellesley Centers for Women, consulted on this story and discussed the importance of adjusting the expectations, practices, and resources within existing system to promote success. This is one of two reports produced by Teachers TV in the United Kingdom that focused on gender in the U.S. education system and featured WCW experts.
