Might Pregnancy be a Boon to Female Athletes?

In this blog post, WCW writer-in-residence Laura Pappano and her colleague Eileen McDonagh challenge the idea that bodily differences privilege men in athletic activities. Female athletes, especially those who participate in endurance activities, may receive benefits from estrogen, and may even receive an extra boost from the physiological changes that occur during pregnancy.
