In this video, Ellen Gannett, M.Ed., director of the National Institute on Out-of-School Time (NIOST) at the Wellesley Centers for Women, talks about the improvements NIOST has made to After-School Quality (ASQ). ASQ is a guide for facilitating a five-step, team-based approach to improving afterschool program quality. The five steps are:
1) Preparing the program improvement process for the community.
2) Preparing the ASQ team.
3) Gathering the information through program observations, questionnaires, and focus groups.
4) Creating the action plan based on the summary and analysis of data.
5) Taking action toward program improvement.
