A fall bullying survey conducted by the Reading School Committee showed that fewer students who are bullied are reporting the incidents. The survey is conducted in the schools twice a year, once in the fall and once in the spring. Elementary, middle, and high schoolers are surveyed. The assistant superintendent found the slight drops in reporting bullying from last year a concern.

The Open Circle program at the Wellesley Centers for Women was referenced in this article; nearly 100 percent of the elementary school teachers in Reading have completed the Open Circle training, which focuses on relationship building in early grades.
