For SCOTUS, three may be magic number

With Elena Kagan's confirmation, the Supreme Court now includes three female justices for the first time in its history, and gender bias may now be a non-issue in court rulings. Referencing the work of the Critical Mass Project, this coumnist notes that having three female members of of a small group constitutes a critical mass, such that those three women will typically differ in opinion enough to where each is truly acknowledged as an individual voice.
