Women still encounter barriers to senior leadership in most organizations, even though there is plenty of evidence to suggest that having women in leadership positions benefits most companies. Increasing the number of women on corporate boards is one way to improve equality throughout an organization. As the Critical Mass Project reported, the presence of three or more women on a corporate board causes fundamental change within the boardroom and enhances corporate governance.
