Local view: After-school programs build a strong future
Jahna Hardy East Hillside Patch, a grass-roots organization in Duluth, Minnesota, urges for more importance to be given to youth programming in the Duluth community. A study by the National Institute of Out-Of-School Time (NIOST) at the Wellesley Centers for Women has found that extra-curricular programming for youth helps young people acquire important skills, build passions, and take responsibility for their own development. |
