Women Leave Husbands, Kids Home When They Want to Have a Little Fun

Women throughout the country are organizing annual retreats with their colleagues and college friends, and the market for women’s travel literature is experiencing significant growth. Dr. Jean Baker Miller states that women “often suffer from not having anyone who really is attuned to what they are experiencing,” and for women with children and significant others, “girlfriends fill a void that significant others can’t.”
