Wellesley Centers for Women researchers, Fern Marx and Sumru Erkut, presented a workshop called “Raising Confident and Competent Girls: How Schools and Parents Can Support Girls in the Middle School” to Lincoln and Hanscom parents, teachers, and administrators. The workshop addressed the roles that schools and youth-serving agencies play in supporting the academic achievement, resilience, and aspirations of young women’s lives, and gave recommendations on how best to show support.
