The state of Massachusetts is now offering $1 million in scholarships for early educators to get higher education and training. Research from the Wellesley Centers for Women shows only 59 colleges and universities offer early education programs. In order to supply one teacher with a degree from a higher learning institution in every center, Head Start, and public preschool classroom in Massachusetts, it would take 19 years. The Department of Early Education and Care has already awarded 175 scholarships to the nearly 900 applicants.   Read more
