Teen tragedies raise supervision concerns

During April school vacation week in Massachusetts, several teenagers were killed in tragic accidents. Caywood considers whether parental supervision could have saved these lives and uses the opportunity to delve into how teenagers spend their time after school between 2 and 6 PM while their parents are at work. Joyce Shortt, co-director of NIOST (National Institute on Out-of-School Time) state, "I would certainly think it's a time when kids are more at risk, I hear it all the time in my own workplace, moms checking in with kids on the phone."
